Not what should be expected considering the prices.

We had hibachi. The chef was very nice and entertaining. The waiter was fast and efficient. Our entire group enjoyed the food.

I eat here a lot since I work in the area. I got to say the customer service is always good and they keep the place well organized consistently. Rates are fair and they serve big portions.

Salmon sashimi was served a bit too cold, but was decent. Great selection of foods.

How can these reviews be accurate?We just ate there for the first time and it was the worst hibachi ever!Everything was so salty, the meat rubbery, the lettuce wilted and our stomachs are soar$278 for 8 people to have to go home now

Hands-down the best sushi and hibachi restaurant in the area if not in the state! I have had several large parties here and every time I dine here it is phenomenal! If you don’t like this place there is literally something wrong with you!! It’s THE BEST!!!

Best sushi in monmouth county.

The chef was fantastic and puts on a great show for both adults and children. Not to mention the food is absolutely delicious.

I've been a customer for many years and have never been disappointed. It's a bit of a drive for me but IMO worth it. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Food is top notch and the value is very good. Spacious dining area. Restrooms clean. So sad to see a grand place like this reduced to a take out window in these COVID times. I still come here for take out and the quality has not been compromised. Hopefully Kanji survives. They deserve it.

This is a great sushi spot with friendly staff and delicious food. We've never tried the hibachi but the sushi is wonderful - the big rolls all have a cool twist (like tempura flakes) and the gyoza are really tasty. It's also BYOB which is always a plus.

For a place in South jersey, it's nice. Sashimi is pretty fresh. But when compared to NYC because of their pricing, it's really only 3 stars. The food is only okay. The ladies are nice and helpful. They speak mandarin as well.

Terrible service. We had a reservation at 7 and when we came in at 7, we had to wait 40 minutes just to get sat. Then we had to wait 15 minutes for the waitress to even come over so we can order our drinks. Drinks werent even right. After an hour, the chef finally cameFood was .mediocre at best

I've been to about 5 different sushi places to try and find the freshest, best atmosphere and unique food and I must say that, kanji tops it all. Atmosphere and decor is perfect and the sushi is amazing! Volcano roll, golden salmon roll, and the rest of the speciality rolls are awesome including the zombie roll (appetizer meal) you will never be disappointed at, kanji!

I was disappointed with the management of Kanji. We had a work party about 12 people we all ordered hibachi. And when we ordered our desserts they want us to pay $3.00 per person. I cant believe it the manager cannot give us a complimentary dessert after what we spent in our party. Guys please dont go to kanji if you have a group party. And the 20% tip was included to the bill this is not right especially the service was bad.

Was looking forward to trying this restaurant on NYE. I almost vomited after my first bite of Their Fallen Angel roll. I understand that things happen...bad piece of fish? Ok, no big deal. I gave it 1 star because when the manager came over, she denied it. Said it tasted fine (she didn’t taste it) and said she didn’t agree with what I said. I stared at her, not willing to get into an argument. After about 15 seconds, she felt awkward enough to ask me what I wanted to do. I told her I’d like it taken off the table and the bill. She grabbed the plate and left. With the exception of a great server (didn’t get her name), this was a Terrible experience.

I received counterfeit money yesterday when giving them a 100 dollar bill my change was 60 something dollars and my 10 dollar bills were counterfeit....pls check your money...food here is great first time this has happened to me

I’m here on a Saturday for lunch. Quiet, dark ambiance which is nice. Sweet Plus Roll doesn’t disappoint.. just one gripe. The waitress brought out my boyfriends roll before mine, so he’s sitting with his food, and I have none. He ordered his roll as an appetizer, and then ordered Chicken Teriyaki asan entree. She then proceeds to bring out his chicken entree and I’m still sitting with no food. To me, this is common sense etiquette. Youshouldn’t serve a man before a woman. We should have been served together.

Good food very reasonably priced but BYOB. Note the liquor store next door is closed so dont google liquor stores and c its next door.. there is one in shopping center across the street

The service was phenomenal! Our waitress never let my water be empty. Or any of our drinks. The hibachi chef was fun. Food was excellent.

This restaurant has a family friendly atmosphere. The chef who did our hibachi was entertaining. The facility was nice and clean. Their house dressing is to die for.

If you are looking for quality sushi down the shore then look no further. Kanji always has great service and fresh tasty rolls. I would definitely recommend it!

Best sushi and value in the area

Sushi is decent but it’s overcharged. Also I they refused to let me order soup off the menu because quote: “this is a sushi and hibachi steakhouse we don’t have soup.”

Dine in or take out, their food is consistently good and fresh. Best sushi in the area.

Friendly service & good food.

My stummy after eating here. Had hibachi with my family and all of ours was not good. Would not recommend. I would not want my enemies stummy to hurt as much as my stummy hurts.

Good place , very tasty food

Great hibachi restaurant. One of the reasons this place is one of my favorites is because you always get fried rice, noodles, veggies, and a shrimp appetizer. Their staff and chefs are all very friendly, and they have a good selection for kids. It's also BYOB.

We eat here 2-3 times a week! Very fast service and fresh food every time!

We've given them their last chance. Lousy service. Waited 1hr for appetizers. Not enough help, poor communication. Food just fair. Try Mizu instead. We walked out and went to mizu after one hour

Great place to get my granddaughter great things. Nice people and great prices.
